Offsite Visits
For thousands of years animals have been used to help people suffering from physical, psychological and emotional issues. In addition to using the larger members of our herd for both mounted and unmounted equine-assisted services, the smallest member of our herd (Polly Pocket – a falabella) has been specifically trained to work with both children and adults in unmounted equine-assisted services. We have also added a Shetland (Tommy) to our herd who will join Polly Pocket as soon as he has completed his training.
Polly Pocket, Tommy, and their handlers are trained, and insured for off-site visits to nursery schools; SEN schools; hospices and care homes as well as for visits to events including fetes. All handlers are subject to enhanced DBS checks.
